Action-Packed Fortnight of Sports

It’s been a thrilling few weeks for our sports teams, with students from across year groups showcasing incredible determination, skill, and spirit in a series of competitive fixtures.
Here’s a round-up of the recent action:
- 23 April – Year 11 Boys Football Plate Final: A nail-biting match ended in a narrow loss on penalties to Outwood Academy.
- 28 April – Year 9/10 Girls Football Plate Semi-final: A tough game saw the team fall to Rainford.
- 29 April – Year 7 Boys Football Plate Semi-final: Another close contest, with Rainford taking the win.
- 30 April – A mixed day of results:
- Year 7/8 Girls Football Plate Final: A hard-fought match ended in defeat.
- Year 8 Boys Football Plate Final: Victory! A fantastic performance secured the win—well done, team!
- 1 May – Year 10 Boys Football Plate Semi-final: A strong showing led to a well-earned win.
- 2 May – Year 9/10 Girls Rugby Cup Semi-final: A brilliant win against Outwood Academy!
- 6 May – Year 10 Boys Football Plate Final: A valiant effort ended in a loss to Hope Academy.
- 7 May – Year 9/10 Girls Rugby Final: A tough final saw the team narrowly miss out against Cowley.
- 13 May – Year 8 Town Cup Rugby Semi-final: A close and competitive game ended in a 16–6 loss to Rainford.
Despite some tough results, our students have shown incredible resilience, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout. Every match has been a learning experience, and we are immensely proud of all our athletes.
